We tried to find private transport from Cuzco to the Qoyllur Rit'i festival in Peru, 2005. And failed.

The best price we were offered was US$30 each in a van. Instead we took this beater bus for US$5 (15 soles).

Anything with wheels was enlisted to move the tens of thousands of pilgrims to the mountains. It took our bus about 8 hours to get there — including this stop for brake failure.
