- Zarate Adventures near the main plaza is a simple shop, but comes highly recommended too. We hired our transportation to the Misti volcano trek trailhead through Zarate. No problems.

This site is posted to help you hike to Colca Canyon without a guide. The Arequipa adventure tour offices, most on Jerusalen & Santa Catalina steets, all offer free information for hikers — though they would all prefer you hire them to take you.
If you decide to hire help, a more interesting option to us would be to hire our own guide, arriero and/or burros on-the-spot through a hotel in Cabanaconde. Put all the money into the local community. This would also be cheaper.
