Considerations:
Unlike other parks in the States, in Glacier you must book every night in the back country & stay in that campsite. They are strict on this.
Buy food in Waterton and Many Glacier. Plan on restaurant meals there. Reduce the amount of food you need to carry.
Our choice of campgrounds is slightly different than that of Lonely Planet Hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Consult that guide book, as well. We like Mokowanis Lake better than any of alternatives.
You could replace Stoney Indian Lake with Kootenai Lake if you want to camp with moose.
Actually, there are no bad campgrounds on the North Circle. But check the mileage between camps if you vary from our recommendation.
Our first choice of trailheads is Waterton townsite in Canada accessed by boat or foot because that is our favourite of the available trailheads. Unfortunately only Canadian & American hikers can cross the border that way, hassle free. Other nationalities should choose our 3rd choice itinerary (which can also be reversed).
The maximum length of any of the hiking days is about 20kms (12 miles). We found some days surprisingly demanding!
Elevation gain and loss total for the North Circle is about 3000m (10,000 feet).
You might change your specified itinerary based on local conditions. Check with the Park Rangers in Glacier for last minute advice when you arrive.

we recommend the sidetrip to Iceberg Lake
