Considerations:
You travel between Waterton & Many Glacier on the East Side shuttle: <website> for current fares & schedules.
Unlike other parks in the States, in Glacier you must book every night in the back country & stay in that campsite. They are strict on this.
Our first choice of trailheads are Waterton townsite (Canada) & Many Glacier. Unfortunately only Canadian & American hikers can cross the border that way, hassle free. Other nationalities should choose our 3rd choice itinerary. Spending 2 nights in Granite Park would allow you to day hike part of the Highline Trail without a pack.
If you decide not to hike to Waterton in Canada, consider a series of day hikes out of Many Glacier and/or Logan Pass. The views would be equal to our 3rd choice itinerary.
You might change your specified itinerary based on local conditions. Check with the Park Rangers in Glacier for last minute advice when you arrive.
