• Ausengate (6 days, many high passes)
• Colca Canyon (5 days, mucho elevation gain)
• Volcano Misti (3 days climbing to 5822m)

There are fantastic day hikes out of Huaraz too, the best of which is Laguna 69, we feel. If possible stay overnight on the day hikes. This is perfect acclimatization.

For sightseeing, consider a day tour to:

Many hikers organize other adventures out of Huaraz, especially rock climbing, ice climbing & mountain biking.

The best thing we did there was a day of Canyoning (rapelling waterfalls) offered by the helpful & low cost Andean Kingdom adventure company.

Nobody is bored in Huaraz!
