Finals Floor, Vault, Horizontal Bar — Commonwealth Games

Kyle Shewfelt of Calgary took the gold medal on Floor in the first round of Event finals today. Shewfelt was a favorite going into these finals, and has built himself a strong name internationally on this event.

Kyle perfomed a Yurchenko 2 1/2 twist on his first vault to receive 9.65 and Tsukahara 2/1 twist for his second for a 9.237 and a final score of 9.443. Kanukai Jackson of England took the Silver and Baz Collie of Scotland took the Bronze. Alexander Jeltkov finished 8th.

The Canadian won the vault having also taken the floor title in the morning session.

England's Kanukai Jackson, the favourite on the vault, finished second in the fourth of six finals at the G-Mex Centre.

Shewfelt placed 7th with a good routine, and had the support of the British audience, but wasn't able to match his performance from the Team event on Friday.
