Training Journal

... home from England.

Well, the last month has been pretty good. I was away in England for ten days for a training camp and it was a lot of fun. It was hard work because we were training 3 times a day, but I did have a really good time. It was nice that the whole team was there. I think that we all get along really good and we are starting to feel more like a team rather than 8 individuals put together. One of my favourite parts of the trip, besides winning the competition of course, was playing cards every night for 1 pound a game. That is more than 2 bucks Canadian so the stakes were high. I only won once, but I came away with more than 16 dollars Canadian so that was alright! It was an excellent way of passing the time because where we were training was pretty boring. It was literally in the middle of nowhere.

After the camp and competition in England I am feeling really excitedabout Nationals. There are only 2 more weeks left before we go. I can't believe how fast time is passing lately. I remember thinking to myself 3 months ago that Nationals was so far away. It is close now though and I am feeling quite prepared. We aren't doing that many routines, but we are doing atleast one a day in a competition style format. We warm up for an hour and a half and then we do a one touch and compete. I like this because it is making me feel the pressure of having to hit. This is going to make competing at nationals a lot more like training which is good because I am pretty relaxed in training. I think that I am going to do pretty good if I hit. My confidence is growing every day.

My Birthday was on Sunday. I am 19 now! I didn't really do much for my bday. I had a huge exam in Math today and so I had to study for that. I missed a lot of school when I was away and so I have to catch up now. I am not worried though because I will celebrate my birthday later. When I don't have so much to do!

I watched Survivor on Thursday. I was happy that Tina won. I wanted Elizabeth to win because I think that she is amazing, but I am happy Tina got the million.

One of the coaches at my gym had a baby on Saturday. I thought that she was never going to have it. She was due while I was away in England, but she didn't have her baby until 2 weeks later. Congratulations Nadine and Mark on your new baby boy!

Well, I should get going. I will keep updating you on my progress before Nationals. Hopefully the next 2 weeks are filled with positive things because I work so much better when things are going good.

'til next time
