Expect the unexpected

Hikers have basked topless one day & been close to hypothermia on the next. Trail & weather conditions can deteriorate quickly. Use common sense. There’s a good chance you’ll change your plan based on weather.

Getting to the Trailhead

You may be one of the well organized who can arrange a boat to deliver and pick you up. Good on you.

The rest of us — most Nootka hikers will either:

• fly in on Air Nootka, or
• catch the Uchuck ferry in from Gold River

Most hikers take the Uchuck back to Gold River when they finish the trip.
