A highly photogenic spot, Friendly Cove is one of the highlights of the Nootka.

If you want to stay over in Yuquot, ask at the residence in the back of the old church. Tenting is allowed for a fee & you may even be able to rent one of the 6 rustic cabins along the beach. (about C$100 / night)
The church is now a museum with totems & other native relics. There are some lovely stained glass windows too; one pane depicts captains Vancouver (England) & Quadra (Spain) while the other shows Spanish Father Catala preaching to the natives.

The glass was donated by the Spanish government in 1957 no doubt so that all can better remember the glorious Spanish history here.
There are some marvelous totems displayed in the church.

Ask about the last outdoor standing totem which fell in 1993. It's close to Friendly Harbour near the largest house.
The water supply for Yuquot is not close to the church. Its perhaps 500 metres or more distant. Dozens of native kids were enjoying a summer adventure in Yuquot in 2001. They will be happy to show you around if you ask.
You can walk up to the lighthouse for some spectacular views & photos.
