The Salcantay Trek from Mollepata to Aguas Calientes & Machu Picchu is the most popular of the alternatives to the famous (but over-regulated) Inca Trail.

Sometimes called Mollepata to Machu Picchu, we feel Salcantay is a better name as it highlights the highest peak close to Machu Picchu. This trek crosses a pass next to Salcantay above 4600m so acclimatization to altitude is essential.
