Hard copy maps
- South American Explorers Llanganuco - Santa Cruz 1:50,000 is our favourite map. Quite simple, but more than you need. US$5 members, $7 non-members.
- Alpenvereinskarte, Cordilleras Blanca Nord Peru 1:1000,000 was the most detailed map in 2004. Buy it when you get to Huaraz. We bought ours from Casa de Guias, but a number of shops carry it.
- IGN 1:1000,000 Pomabamba 19-j and Corongo1 18-h cover the same area.
- in Huaraz the iPeru tourist information office. gave us quite a good free photocopied map, Circuito de Aventura Llanganuco - Santa Cruz.
- many trekking companies will give you a free photocopied map too, if you inquire
