I spent 2 days in mellow Caraz acclimatizing for the Santa Cruz Trek.

I most enjoyed a fantastic bike trip <photos> from the top of the Cordillera Negro back to town.

The attraction to miss are the Tumshukayko ruins (free entrance). Not much has been restored. Enthusiastic children insist on being your guide.
