Accommodation on the Track

There are six 4 DOC huts available with tenting <DOC website>:

    1. Mangatepopo Hut
    2. Ketetahi Hut
    3. Oturere Hut
    4. new Waihohonu Hut
    5. (Whakapapa Village)

Our recommended route suggests you stay at the two in bold, though Oturere is excellent too.

Huts are basic, functional but often crowded. Tenting is excellent & you should haul tent if the weather cooperates.
