Maps are not a problem on the West Coast Trail. Every hiker is given a good map at Orientation or it may be mailed to you if you make a Reservation. However, you may want to consult maps while planning your hike.
We list 2 kinds of maps here; online and hard copy.
Online WCT Maps:
We often keep a map open in another browser window to check against while browsing this site.
Every hiker gets the CanMap West Coast Trail (1:50,000). This free map is either mailed or handed to you at Orientation. It is somewhat water resistant, but we recommend you put it in a waterproof Ziploc bag.
If you love maps as we do, consider also:
Topographical map 1:50,000: West Coast Trail published by International Travel Maps about C$8 or US$6 plus shipping and tax. It's similar to the one you get free but includes some different details. Unfortunately it's also much heavier than the free map. You may find it stocked in speciality map stores.
Another option is the 1:50,000 Treaty Oak WCT map or the E/10 Topographical Energy, Mines & Resources Canada (1:50,000)
