Carmanah lighthouse is a classic, built 1891.
The fine lawns, gardens, and white paint jump out in sharp contrast to the west coast wilderness.
There is no toilet for hikers at the lighthouse but a simple outhouse is available nearby on the forest trail. Chez Monique's has a toilet as well.

Heading for Bamfield, if the weather is good & tides are low, climb down to the coast from the lighthouse to check out the sea lions. Most hikers leave their packs up above & make a sidetrip down to the point unencumbered.
Climb back up & start on the forest Trail departing the lighthouse. It's a comparatively easy, varied, scenic hike from here to Nitinat & on to the Klanawa.
It can be difficult to find good water from here to Nitinat Narrows. There is a water tap at the lighthouse but even that water tastes somewhat odd. Best filter plenty of water and carry it with you to the ferry at Nitinat. (This helps you justify that one extra beer from Chez Monique's, too.)

Heading for Port Renfrew most hikers climb from the lighthouse down to the beach & stop at Chez Monique's for a restaurant meal.
It's beach all the way then to Carmanah, Bonilla & beyond.
