Logan Creek

Tip. You might want to use the BACK button to return to the previous page when finished.

Logan suspension bridge is one of the great photo ops on the WCT.

When we say suspension bridge, we mean a suspended single-plank bridge, 100 metres long, that bounces and sways in the wind!

Some hikers get a little nervous on the Logan Creek suspension bridge. But don’t worry, it hasn’t blown down in high winds ... since 1982.

Don't deliberately bounce the Logan bridge as it is connected to the ladder on the Bamfield side — you will get grief from any hiker on that ladder shaken-up by your bouncing.

Logan is a nice campsite, less crowded than most.

If you do stop at Logan, consider taking a side trip to go look at Adrenaline Surge without a pack.

Headed towards Bamfield, if you want to camp at Logan don't cross the bridge but instead climb down the long ladders on the Port Renfrew side.

If you are not stopping at Logan, we recommend you cross the bridge & continue on the forest Trail to Walbran. Expect muddy slogging.

The alternative is to descend the ladders & take the shelf to Adrenaline Surge — no longer recommended for any but the elite of hikers. Wardens still cross Adrenaline Surge but it's not recommended for mere mortals. Serious injuries & at least one death have been caused by Adrenaline.

Heading towards Port Renfrew, you've reached the start of the big ladders; big ladders at both Logan & Cullite. You've reached the start of the difficult end of the WCT. It's hard work from here to Port Renfrew.

Everyone stays on the forest Trail through to Cullite. It can be muddy & boggy where there are no boardwalks.
